The Soil Group are involved at looking at every aspect of soil and the environment it contains and the environment its within. Our expertise includes making technically advanced artificial soils that contain no virgin materials that can be manufactured almost anywhere in the world to manipulating bacteria and Fungi in order to reduce chemical and fertiliser inputs to crops. Other areas of work that we have conducted include work on biochars from a wide range of feedstocks made from several processes, herbicide resistance and the effects of Quorum sensing on soil biology.
